George and Sharon
Markey

George and Sharon Markey

George is originally from Indiana but moved to Ukraine in 1992 with his missionary parents and seven siblings.  Sharon was born in Hawaii and grew up in California, spending the summers with family in the islands. George and Sharon met as a result of their fathers discussing the match and deciding that their children should be introduced to each other. Sharon moved to Ukraine in 2003, just after marrying George.

Prior to starting the church in Ternopil, the Markeys served at Calvary Chapel Kyiv where George was an assistant pastor and both were members of the worship team.

They have three children, Samuel, Kiyoshi and Peter.

Marilyn Gibbs

Marilyn Gibbs

My Lord Jesus Christ saved me out of darkness in 1990 and gave me a new life. From that moment my desire was to serve Him where ever He would send me. He didn't wait too long, as within 3 years I was already living and serving at the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Austria. Since that time, I have had the privilege of serving The Lord in Belarussia, Hungary, Romania and Ukraine.

Praise be to God, as He has allowed me to serve Him through cooking, cleaning, changing diapers, ministering to orphans, teaching singles and womens' ministries and worshiping Him on flute. What an awesome way to share the good news to a lost world. It is such a blessing to serve Him!

Tim and Christina
Emerson

Tim and Christina Emerson

Prior to 2004, Tim and Christina Emerson had been living a typical life in America - happy and content - but in August of the same year, they decided to go on a mission trip to Nizhyn, Ukraine. This was to be the mission trip that would change their lives forever for they were completely unaware of what God had planned. God took two willing people and used them to spread His gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit.

This was the catalyst which took them in 2005 to Bible college in Vajta, Hungary where they studied the Bible daily and learned how to use God's Word practically and draw closer to Him. At the end of 2005, they left the college at the conclusion of their studies and moved to Ukraine, sensing God's calling on their lives. They have been living in Ukraine since 2005 and are currently serving in Ternopil.

They have two children, Leah and Caleb.

Jon and Stephanie
Markey

Jon and Stephanie Markey

Jon was born in Indiana, but moved to Ukraine in 1992 ,when his father, George Markey, answered the call to plant a Calvary Chapel in the capital city of Kyiv. Jon was just 6 years old when his family moved over. He started kindergarten right away and continued studying in the Ukrainian school system. After high school, he studied piano in college and received his Master's at the Conservatory of Music in Kyiv in 2007. While at Calvary Chapel Kyiv, Jon was a part of the worship team, and from 2006-2008 he served as worship leader.

Stephanie was born in Vermont, but lived most of her life in Florida. In 1996, at the age of 12, she spent 5 months in Russia . This exposure to missions left a lasting impact on her, and she knew that someday she would be involved in overseas missions. She attended Trinity College of Florida and received her A.A. in Biblical Studies. In 2002 and 2003 Steffie went on two missions trip with Eastern European Outreach(EEO) to Russia, where she helped with Bible camps for orphans. In 2004, their EEO team traveled to Western Ukraine. It was there that Stephanie met Jon. He was her translator :) After 2 and half years of long distance dating, they were married in July of 2007 and moved to Kyiv a month later.

In the summer of 2008, both Jon and Stephanie felt the Lord leading them to Ternopil, to assist Jon's older brother George. Jon is the worship leader at Calvary Chapel Ternopil. He trains musicians and singers for worship, teaches Bible studies and is currently teaching a class on Acts in the church's School of Ministry.

They have two children, Katie Rose and George.
